She is here // Yunli in UK

Last Christmas, I get to spend a wonderful holiday with my best friend and the person I love. I couldn't ask for more already. Yunli is here. Yes, my bestie came all the way from Malaysia to the UK to visit me. 14hours flight and she is here! In this post, I will be sharing our 1-month journey travelling in the UK. So, this will be a really long blog post loaded with loads of photos.

I was so excited about her arrival. Mo and I took a 6 hours journey mid-night bus from Middlesbrough to London Heathrow Airport to pick her up. She arrived in the afternoon and it was winter at the time so the sunset earlier. For that day, I planned to have pho in Soho for dinner and then headed to Winter Wonderland since when our next trip to London it will not be there anymore.

Dinner | Pho

Pho Soho is right in the middle of Wardour Street. Pho is always on my go-to-restaurant list when I am in London. Pho is a Vietnamese dish, noodles soup served with fresh herbs as the side dish. *recommended if you are in London*

Winter Wonderland | Hyde Park

The Winter Wonderland is located at Hyde Park and will only be there during Christmas Season. It will be there again in November 2018.

There was a line before the entrance due to the security check. You don't have to pay for the entrance to the park, but you will separately pay each machine if you want to play. Besides, there are Christmas Market for goods, foods and drinks.

* our lack of sleep selfie. *

The park was absolutely huge. There were all types of amusement machine which you can ever imagine.

I reckon the hot churros is a must eat item in the park. We have the one with hot chocolate but you can have it with sprinkle cinnamon or sugar depends on personal preference.

Birmingham | UK

I planned this trip before Yunli plans her trip to the UK so this is on our itinerary. I made up this trip to meet up with my cousin who was travelling to Birmingham from Portsmouth during the winter break. Our first meal in Birmingham was Japanese food but it was alright. We spend the evening in the Frankfurt Christmas Market which was awesome.  I tried my very first rum hot chocolate in the Christmas Market.

You can take the boat tour on the canal.

Birmingham Musuem and Art Gallery

The rum hot chocolate. It tastes like a cup of normal hot chocolate but with a sense of alcohol in it. I would say it may be the drink to keep you warm while rolling in the winter night market. Notes: You need to pay a deposit for the cup and get it back when you return the cup. :o

Day 2 | in Birmingham was Boxing Day. We had Chinese Hotpot buffet with my cousin before we headed into town for shopping! and we went to the Christmas Market again in the evening. It was the last day of Christmas Market, we can't miss it.

Day 3 | Christmas Day! The town was literally dead! We start our day exploring the empty city. It was the best time to take photos around in town because it is empty! No public transport No tram Lesser human.

Day 4 | Boxing Day.

Honestly my first Five Guys in the UK. The price is slightly higher but it definitely worth a try.

It was snowing! Initially, we planned to go to Cambridge on our Day 5, unfortunately, we had to cancel the trip due to the snow. So we spend another day rolling in Birmingham.

So we found Pho in the Grand Central and I couldn't resist it. We have it again. After the meal, We had bubble waffle as dessert. A satisfying meal.

Then headed to the city library.

The architecture of the building was interestingly modern.

Bath | The Roman Bath

The Roman Bath is one of the finest historical sites in Northern Europe. You do need to pay for the entrance. With our valid student cards, we got the student saver tickets (19.50 £) with entry to the Roman Baths, the Fashion Musuem and Victoria Art Gallery. You can go to their official website for details pricing information. Ticket and Prices.

Wake up extra early to catch the train to Bath.
Finally we are here, the Ancient Roman Bath.

The Pump Room.

It was right outside the Roman Bath. We were planning to have lunch in the Pump Room but we could not bother to spend our time lining up for the queue since it was just a day trip to Bath.
